Dummy content for the developping WordPress Web designer.

Dummy content for the developping WordPress Web designer.

As time is running, WordPress is turning out to be my choice platform for both, site and blog design. The latter has a lot of advantages starting with one to which I give a lot of attention SEO. I will not come back on the reasons why I favour SEO over a lot of other elements in site conception as I’ve already discussed it in this post on “Why I do so much SEO“. To round it up in one question: what is the use of a website if it doesn’t reach any objective?

One of the main problems one faces when working on WordPress websites is content management and design. Let’s be honest, managing and designing a web page is mainly an answer to “how to make content look good on a screen”. The most annoying thing is that you don’t really know, or at least, it is sometimes not easy to remember, all the elements you have to style. This is where this great plugin on dummy content gets into the picture: WP Dummy Content.

The nice thing with this tool is that it can build pages, sub-pages as well as blog posts with nearly all the elements you might need for styling your text. Just install it and ask it to generate your pages and posts and there you go, some nice Mark Twain (if I’m not mistaken) text with elements such as lists and quotes for your CSS pleasure. It might seem weird to have a post just for a small maybe “nonsense” widget like this one but it is so handy when you have to develop that it ends up being a real time and life saver.

So next time you get on a WordPress development project, just remember this small tool.

Thanks for sharing this plugin. Wordpress is my favorite too whether for a site or a blog. Infact everything I do is using wordpress. Some1 asked me if IslandWebsite.info is using Joomla the other day and when I said no it is wordpress he had that weird look on his face as if I was lying lol.

Many people still don’t know the power of wordpress.

Yes, to many WordPress is but a mere blogging platform but as things always happen, a certain tool can be turned away from its main use to do something else. WordPress has this in it by being so flexible and easy to code and tweak.
