42 plugins on my side o_0 And somehow the blog needs ALL of them to provide the different functionalities.

@Steph, yes you are right. Some features should be added to the core. It was the same for automatic upgrade and now it is included as a standard feature.

Akismet, All in One SEO Pack, BackType Connect, FeedBurner FeedSmith, Google Analyticator, Google XML Sitemaps, gooseGrade, MobilePress, NoFollow Free, Random Posts, RSS Cloud, Seesmic WordPress plugin, Similar Posts, Sociable, Subscribe To Comments, WordPress.com Stats, WordPress Database Backup, WP Ajax Edit Comments, WP Super Cache, WPtouch iPhone Theme… etc…

In my opinion, some of them should become a WordPress standard features, like XML Sitemaps, All in one SEO, Subscribe to comments, etc…

So you’re running about at least 15 of them. I think that you also use the Arthemia theme which already has some plugins packed, isn’t it?

This somewhat answers my question, you can’t really run a WordPress blog without a whole lot of plugins.
