My favourite blog of 2009.

You sometimes find yourself reading a blog in one go. These are blogs so interesting that you just can’t get enough of them. Ideas are bright, the text is great and the overall tone is just engaging. This is the whole spirit of Mauricianismes. The great cool Mauritian “dipain, diber, fromaz” blog. Above all blogs I follow (and I’m but a lurker on Mauricianismes) I think that this “Martian spoken here” blog is the best Mauritian blog of 2009. Cheers to Siganus K. for this great blog.

I “discovered” the guy when he started commenting (sharply at that!) on my blog. I’d describe his blog as being “authentiquement Mauricien” a real slice of our country handed out through expressions and images

    Yes!
And the funny thing is that he’s right. The correct expression is indeed “sans concession”.
I tried to register it on wordpress. But some guy had done it before. And what’s less funny is that this guy has NEVER posted anything on http://sansconcession.wordpress.com since 2007!!! Bez sa!
ps: ki position? To pé prépare to bagaz la?

Maybe it would be a good idea to switch to a top level domain now. Sans-concession.com/net are currently available. You could get the whole package for some 50€ or so.

Wai, fek signe papié conzé. Bagaz pou lézer dapré lord, pe vini zis pou kass poz lamer  .

Thanks for your cheers, but what I’d really like to have is a greater number of regular Mauritian contributors. So far I’ve had only a handfull of them, who made a few suggestions, or one or two comments, and then left. The idea behind the creation of this blog was to discuss various expressions that we hear almost every day (or sometimes not so often) and reach a consensus about their meaning, their spelling, their origin if possible, and so on.

Thanks for stopping by Siganus K. Building a dedicated mauritian readership is hard. It also is the case for the Web Design Bureau. It will however evolve as time goes by. I for example am a “lurker” on your site. I read but do not comment. Beats me why.

Anyway, mo ena de troi lider ki mo capav zet lor to blog de tan en tan si sa interess twa.

Mate, you have an incredible blog, put yourself out there more often and you will be a legend overnight :) You are already a legend in my book anyway. Keep it up. I will try to comment as much as I can, although I must admit, your material is so high-quality I am scared that I might ruin it with idiotic comments! :D It’s like that awesome toy car you don’t take out of the shiny box in case you break it.
