Year 3, cranky but working.
The Web Design Bureau of Mauritius has entered its third year since last week. While several important events are being handled for better delivery of content, the new in-house built theme is currently being tested. This cannot be launched in full blast because we are actually waiting to be transfered to our new upgraded green server with increased space and load times in Geneva. However, you can catch a neat preview of the whole thing.
Pretty much of this theme is hand-coded to reduce the input of plugins and widgets and most of the plugins used are here to maximize the user’s experience of the site. The index has also been cleaned up and there are still some pages to be set up. Please bear with this cranky bit for some time and stay connected for future posts.

Nice new theme. And congrats for the new Blog year
Thanks dude!
Just checking something…in the sidebar, the Recent Comments, Popular Posts titles is an image? Why don’t you try using Google Font and put it as text itself?
Actually these are not simple images, they’re H3s replaced using the FIR technique. Being used only once in a template, it would be an abuse of Javascript to use Google Font for 2 H3s only.
Sounds interesting. Didn’t heard about it before. Waiting for a tutorial post from you then about it
Hi Sachin,
I like this new change. It is very neat and yet appealing. You have made very nice use of typograhy. And i’m sure your final version would be perfect.
Btw could you tell more about the FIR technique? Is it better than actually using text for the title tags?
Cheers for the WebDesign Bureau of Mauritius!

Thanks for your comment Wasseem. I’m still battling with the CSS code, I seem to have gathered up a bug in Chrome with this new theme.
The FIR technique is quite old but really handy. Seems like a lot of people want to hear about it. The next post will therefore be a full tutorial on the use of FIR.
Cheers
Sachin
I think there are too many blogger willing to change their theme in same time and I’m one of them, good to see you too. Waiting for the complete design.
Hi Arafat,
yes, it seems that June inspires bloggers. I’ve been preparing this for the 3rd year quite some time from now. Nice theme over at Worthy Tips too.
Thanks, I design it using CSS3 which is yet to get full support from Opera and IE, hope they support it soon.
This theme makes your site look more like a Tumblr blog
Very minimalist and focuses on content. You got rid of the ads?
Thanks for the comment Bruno. Though I don’t have much acquaintance to Tumblr blogs, I must say that the main idea was to lighten everything up and, you spotted it, I’m concentrating on content. The latter is the main force of this site. Which “ads” are you talking about, the Twitter ones? I’ve really been off for some weeks now.
Non, blog ads …
you removed them as well
Between, the content and sidebar are not centered inside my browser (I am using the latest version of Opera).
